Surprise Flying Tour with Olympic Wings

This tour takes you paragliding at remote new flying areas with a surprise itinerary specially designed by the Olympic Wings team.

We visit destinations in Greece that offer great thermal and cross country flying over original landscapes plus coastal flights with impressive sea views – not missing a day of flying.

Flexibility and organizational backup, to combine areas across regions with minimum transport time further based on the weather allow us to meet each flying site at the best conditions.

We not only retrieve you after landing but most important support you from our own experience with key information to understand and make the best use of the local weather systems and cross country route options with safety.

Pilots flying with us experience thermal technical flying in addition to smooth flights into the sunset. 

A holiday nonetheless, we travel comfortable through welcoming villages and small towns. We rest nicely in newly-renovated hotels and high quality guesthouses with fresh breakfast, near the sea or on the mountain near the take off.

Suggestions and tips for lovely meals every evening from local-made products to enjoy in a relaxing ambiance.

Greece is a country with a rich natural environment on a grand European peninsula that dives into the Mediterranean sea, surrounded by thousands of floating islands.  

The mainland, primarily covered by mountains yet crusted by endless coastline, has an original beauty where the co-existence of rock, forest and sand alternates in unique ways.

High mountains expand through the whole of Greece, some reaching into the alpine zone, some forming long mountain ranges that circle field lands and track routes of rivers or shelter lakes. 

The highest mountain in Greece is Mount Olympus at 2.917 m. in north central Greece, also Olympic Wings’ home mountain.

Olympic Wings takes you touring and paragliding in Greece with special support for pilots travelling in their campervans and motorhomes. 

The tour will show pilots and their family or friends who wish to travel through Greece, several different areas that each offer great flying and unique landscapes.

Following the Olympic Wings specially designed itinerary that is based on the weather – we meet each location at the best conditions.

We will guide you driving through hospitable villages and small towns, moreover at area sites to settle with safety for rest and night camp.

During the flying we organize for your transportation, take-off shuttle and retrievals.

We are full of important information to make your trip easier and most enjoyable.

Suggestions for freshly cooked food and where the authentic local products can be found.

When you are on the road, a simple translation can go a long way.

Olympic Wings offers to pilots summer flying weeks and support for thermalling & cross country flying at the mountain in North Central Greece.

Base areas for flying are two regional sibling locations – Mount Olympos 2.917 m and Voras mountain 2.524 m – excellent venues for great XC flights and thermalling pleasures.

We support pilots for all parts of the trip: Flying, accommodation, shuttle & retrieval service, evening meals & area info, travelling

When flying with Olympic Wings

Location:

The large flatland area of Thessaly expands towards the south offers a big potential for open distance and many triangle XC flights. Southeast in direction to the city of Larissa, Northwest crossing the river of Aliakmonas and West towards Deskati mountains. Crossing Olympus towards the eastern side takes you to the beach.

Mount Voras is a high mountain of the northest parts of Greece that belongs also to a mountain range. It is the 3rd highest mountain in Greece with it’s summit Kaimaktsalan at 2.524 m adjacent to more high peak mountains.
Cross country flights go south towards Mt Olympus and beyond with endless possibilities for kilometer distance, further common directions are towards the towns of Grevena and Kalampaka.

Each location we select to visit is offering not only amazing flights but further comfort for visitors.

Hospitable villages and pilot-friendly locals, snack shops and mini markets.
Traditional taverns & restaurants with frech cooked food of purely local produce – served in a relaxing ambiance.
Evening meal arrangement is optional and pilots are welcome to join.

The sea is an hour drive from the west Olympus. It is possible to make a break for a swim.

Organization:

Olympic Wings organizes your summer flying trip and offers accommodation and all transfers during the flying days for the pilots joining us.

The pilots accommodation is in good quality guesthouses or small hotels situated minutes away from each take-off.
The main accomodation plan is on sharing-basis but can be flexible.
All necessary retrievals from XC flights are included in the transfers.
